2005 Hummer H2 - Jack Hummer

Engine
It's hard to keep track but there are 12 screens, four DVD players, two cameras, a satellite navigation system and an Xbox. And they all need juice. Six SVR batteries do the job. Two are located up front: one in the factory-allotted space, and the other is held in place by a custom bracket. You'll find two more behind each wheel well. Bostic took an alternative view on alternators, too, making a bracket from 31/48" 6061 billet aluminum to hold a couple of 300-amp SPL Powermaster alternators that augment the factory unit. Rounding out the power picture are StreetWires 8 ANL fuse holders and StreetWires battery terminals. And the whole system is activated by a DEI Viper 791XV security system with remote start.

Exterior
As for the vehicle itself, wide flares overshadow 22" wheels, while ride height was jacked up by 6". The supercharged V-8 engine breathes via a K&N intake and Borla exhaust, while a Fox 360 racing package with brush guard was also added.

Kamerer's future plans involve attention to suspension. He promises something "off the wall." We're expecting out of this world.

Subs
The JackHammer moves those low, low frequencies like they were confetti. Even at modest volumes, it's too much for a drive to the grocery store. Set in a tailor-made rollcage and fabricated from 1.75" 134 mild steel tubing, two 10" MTX 8500 subs were put in for day-to-day use, leaving the JackHammer for special occasions. This apparatus also houses six MTX Audio Thunder Series amplifiers.

Owner profile
Too many Toms are in this tale. This project was actually a way for Tom Kamerer to bond with his 17-year-old son, Tommy. Kamerer Sr. is in the hotel business and bought what was originally an SMA Fox 360 Hummer H2 to build up and take to shows to spend some quality weekend time with his son. You'd think there would be inter-generational arguments over what music to play on this mammoth sound system. Luckily for Dad, Junior likes jazz. Kamerer says the sound is so great (in both senses of the word) that "it should be in an auditorium." Keep an eye and an ear out for this vehicle at the SEMA show in the fall.

Forget about putting luggage in the rear cargo area. Each rear side glass has a 15-inch monitor, with the rear headrests getting 7-inch VizuaLogic screens, another camera and a custom panel to light up a Fox 360 logo. An MTX logo is also hidden in the rear glass.
