Yahoo! Autos CustomIs print dead? Far from. Frankly, newspapers will all be electronic long before magazines go the way of the digital age. Therefore we have no problem telling you about how Yahoo!, that online behemoth, is getting into our stock and trade: aftermarket cars and cool mods. So far the information on audio is lean, but if you're looking for a community where you can talk to other enthusiasts and find out about other aspects of a certain car, then Yahoo! Autos Custom should be another good resource, along with other sites such as CarDomain.com.

We checked out the Beta version and have to say that the tools the site will have in its final form make it very easy for a user to find exactly what they want. For instance, you can tag just about anything you're looking for, from a specific color of a vehicle to different automotive parts, and then have everything on the site with the criteria you set pop up on your computer screen. The real upside is, of course, that you'll be able to see things already installed and possibly get feedback from the owners of various vehicles. Considering what the worldwide database will be (we're talking easily into the millions), you shouldn't have any problem finding even the most exotic or uncommon items-and numerous examples of them.

Check Outhttp://custom.autos.yahoo.com/. The beta site already has over a million car enthusiasts. With users' photos, message boards and links to other online resources, Yahoo! may be as useful a portal in terms of the aftermarket automotive as it is on the general cultural side.
