Kenwood 25 years of In Car AV

by CAE, Feb 24, 2009

Though Kenwood, then known as Trio Corporation, opened for business in the 1940s, it didn't introduce car audio components in the U.S. until 1980. "While celebrating our success over the past 25 years," says Keith Lehmann, vice president of the Car Audio Division, "we inaugurate our pledge to 'Listen to the Future' and to continue our tradition of delivering innovative products and technologies." Celebrating the silver anniversary of its Car Audio Division this year, Kenwood has introduced limited edition products and will give some away to a Car Audio and Electronics reader!

Ideal for heading up a system, the XXV-05V all-in-one in-dash entertainment center includes a 5.1-channel DSP processor, TV tuner and amplifier. If you don't win the XXV-05V, check out Kenwood's flagship 25th anniversary CD receiver, the XXV-01D, with External Media Control (i.e., external sources such as an iPod can be interfaced with the receiver). It includes Advanced Codec Drive (AC Drive), which allows the receiver to play back AAC, WMA, WAV and MP3 audio files stored on disc and organized by Media Manager PC software. The XXV-01D also has the Graphic Motion Analyzer, which senses the motion of the vehicle and shows it on the display. Sirius Satellite Radio ready, it is compatible with XM sat rad when used with the appropriate adapter.

Ready to power up your system, the XXV-02A amp includes the Amplifier Management System (AMS) with a built-in Parametric EQ, 2-Way communication to Kenwood's flagship Excelon receivers. Also up for winning is the XXV-03A amp that, like Kenwood's top three mono amplifiers, offers a state-of-the-art Class-D amplifier design.

To fill your speaker needs, the XXV-04S flagship flush-mount component speaker package includes a 7" carbon-fiber woofer, 1" titanium-dome tweeter and a Zobel network crossover system. In the bass realm, Kenwood will give away the KFC-XW1300DVC 13" subwoofer with 2,000 watts maximum power handling and the ability to be controlled via remote control. Check out the fine print below.
